Society unveiled


Hilton London Olympia has unveiled its redesigned bar and restaurant Society as part of an ongoing refurbishment plan that has so far seen £7m invested into the hotel. Award-winning interior design company, design LSM, was behind the revamp with a concept based around the sophisticated sense of style found in Victoria era Kensington. As part of the re-launch executive head chef Grant Ferguson has introduced new menus offering complex dishes created using locally-sourced sustainable ingredients. Cult London bar opens its doors


Renowned on the London party circuit, Adventure Bar in Covent Garden is opening its doors to the corporate and private hire market. Just minutes from Oxford Street and Leicester Square, the bar offers prime transport links. Burleigh Court shapes up for the Olympic Games


Burleigh Court, the four-star hotel from Loughborough University hospitality brand imago, is preparing for the arrival of two Olympic teams by giving its lounge a brand new look. The venue is expecting to welcome both athletes from the Japanese and British Olympic teams and has invested over £60k on new furnishings, fittings and paintwork in the lounge, which will provide a relaxation space for guests.

Get interactive on the London Eye


The EDF Energy London Eye capsules are now fitted with interactive Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 devices so that guests can take in more of the city’s landmarks. The interactive touch screen guides feature content created by LMC design and Henry Stuart Photography. The main features include key information on landmarks that can be seen from the London Eye as well as a 3D view of each sight and 360 degree filming across the city. Blenheim Palace


National treasure Blenheim Palace has joined forces with Searcys, one of the country’s most respected and established catering companies. Searcys will work alongside the palace’s hospitality team, operating the catering for wedding, conference, and banquet guests as well as bringing in one of its trademark champagne bars. The union is part of a move by the palace, birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, to promote itself as a world class venue for both private and business functions. Presently the palace receives around 550,000 visitors annually, it is expected that the new coalition will assist in increasing this number.
 

Hague opens refurbished Darlington starting ground


The Holiday Inn Darlington A1 Scotch Corner hotel has undergone a £3m refurbishment to transform it into a state-of-the-art, contemporary venue. Located at the junction of the A1 and A66 near Darlington, the hotel offers 91 executive and standard bedrooms and a business lounge with computers, internet access, refreshments and private meeting space.
