Buyers and suppliers rise to the challenge in Norway

The Norway Interactive Challenge - organised by Norway Convention Bureau and M&IT magazine - was voted a huge success by participants and hosts.

Four teams comprised of M&IT readers - incorporating some of the UK's leading event management agencies including Zibrant, Grass Roots, BI, p&mm and Banks Sadler and a number of corporate buyers - participated in the challenge to create the perfect programme in four Norwegian destinations: Oslo, Haugesund, Stavanger and Bergen.

The teams rose to the challenge "and exceeded our wildest expectations," said Norway Convention Bureau's Bente Bratland Holm. "The quality of their work was brilliant".

Each team formally presented the results of their research to all participants in a competitive sales pitch on the final night of the event in a 5,800-seater convention centre in Brunstad before a gala dinner.

Their incentive was the chance to win a holiday for them and their partners in a Norway destination of their choice.

The team behind the Haugesund presentation was judged the eventual winner.

The winning team: Nicholas Hoddevik, Visit Haugesund; Louise Davis, Eventscape; Mary O'Hagan, Vivace and David McDougall, Canon UK during their trip to Haugesund.
