The future's bright - it's interactive!
The audience experience would be improved by around 73 per cent if organisers employed interactive systems, according to delegates at MPI's European Meetings & Events Conference.
Heiner Koppermann of SwarmWorks used ‘a show of paddles’ to canvass the opinions of meeting industry professionals. Delegates believed 76 per cent of organisers will be using interactive techniques for their conferences in the next 10 years while 93 per cent believe they are part of the future of the events industry.
Koppermann had a vested interest in the result as his company provides interactive audience programmes to conference organisers. He said: “Involving the audience is enjoyable and a lot of the time the audience is the star. A large jury is a better judge than one expert.”
But his audience feedback had some disappointing news for those responsible for the conference’s education content as education was only rated highly by 53 per cent of delegates surveyed in the session.
