Banks Sadler recruiting again in 'more positive climate'

Leading events agency Banks Sadler has begun recruiting again following a 20 per cent increase in enquiry levels in the first quarter.

MD David Campbell is at pains not to overstate his optimism. “We are not out of the woods yet, but there is definitely a more positive feeling among our clients now," he said. "I am encouraged by what we are seeing in terms of growth in IT and technical sectors of our clientele. We are recruiting carefully to fill slots as business grows again.”

Campbell said he still plans for continued expansion in Europe and does not rule out future acquisitions: “We are seeing a more international perspective with the events that clients are planning. Cost is still high on the agenda for most clients and there is more forward planning to consolidate events where possible.”

According to Campbell, Banks Sadler has benefited from the solid pharmaceutical business his agency had during this recession. “Like many in this industry we have been grateful to the pharma industry – the pharma business has been important for the entire meetings business.”
