Australia is cosying up to European-based international associations by becoming the lead sponsor of this year’s Association Congress, which is being held in London next month (July).
The Associations Project – a joint initiative between Tourism Australia, the Australian Association of Convention Bureaux and major convention centres across the country – is backing the annual event.
More than 300 association executives and industry specialist are expected to attend the meeting, which is taking place 18-19 July at the Business Design Centre in Islington. The Associations Project’s support means each session, including 20 educational talks, will be web broadcast to associations and conference and event organisers worldwide.
Julie Sheather, manager of the Australia Associations Project, said: "The more we understand the needs of associations the better we can work with them to help develop programmes which challenge and inspire their members. The Association Congress is a good place to do that."
Damian Hutt, executive director of event organisers Association Resource, said: "Making this valuable education content available to all association professionals worldwide is a real benefit that will help the wider association community improve their services and events."
