A record-breaking meeting of cancer specialists has taken place.
The RAI Convention Centre, in Amsterdam, hosted more than 7,000 medical experts from 100 countries for the 14th World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC), in July. The conference easily broke previous attendance and scientific content records as well - with 1,881 submitted abstracts.
The event was managed by professional congress organiser International Conference Services (ICS), who previously ran the show in 2003, 2007 and 2009. ICS, based in Vancouver, Canada, was established 35 years ago and also has offices in Vienna, Austria and Denver, US.
Mathias Posch - ICS president and partner, said: “With the conclusion of another successful major international conference, ICS has demonstrated its capacity for being a world leader in the industry.”
Hosted every two years by the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC), the conference is the largest international gathering of clinicians and scientists in the lung cancer field.
ICS has a long list of associations on its books included the International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus and the World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine.
