The Co-operative Event Management has won a £1.5m contract to design and deliver a series of six Olympic celebration events for Waltham Forest Council in the run up to the 2012 Olympic Games.
Waltham Forest has been chosen as one of six Olympic host boroughs and the celebratory events form part of the Olympic programme and regeneration plans. The events are focussed on engaging the local community in celebrating the Olympics and providing a legacy post-Games. The Co-operative Event Management won the competitive tender process that involved over 50 companies and the contract will run until October 2012.
Paul Casement, head of The Co-operative Event Management, said: “This is an extremely prestigious contract and we are delighted to have been chosen to deliver these high profile events. We are very much looking forward to working with Waltham Forest Council to ensure that people within the borough gain as much as possible from London’s Olympic Games.”
