Meetings & Incentive Travel’s online auction on meetpie.com has raised more than £22,000 for meetings industry charity Meetings Industry Meeting Needs.

Top fund-raiser was a four-day trip with flights to the Arctic donated by Norway Convention Bureau. The trip for two to Bodo and Tromso – including a cruise, a rib safari and dog sledding – raised £1,960 for MIMN. The cheque will be presented on Monday October 17 at the Meetings Industry Marketing Awards Dinner at London’s Riverbank Park Plaza Hotel. Altogether 67 lots were donated by the industry to raise funds and more than 1,000 bids were received.

Meeting Needs treasurer Charles Blowfield said: “We are delighted with such a great fund-raising result. Our thanks go to everyone who donated lots and those bidding for the last few weeks but in particular to M&IT for pulling in the auction lots and the online campaign.”
