Kenes UK shareholders have underlined their commitment to the business by injecting half a million pounds to fund a current net liability of £457k, shown in the company’s accounts for 2010.
Dan Rivlin, managing director of Geneva-based Kenes Group, said: “The investment illustrates our confidence and commitment to the business. The significant number of major congresses in the pipeline as well as the high profile that the company has achieved in less than two years indicate that our investment is bearing fruit.”
He added that good levels of profitability were forecast next year and in subsequent years for the UK arm of the medical congress and association management specialist business, which was born as a result of a merger with Confab Consulting in 2009.
Kenes UK managing director, Michael Foreman added: “Being part of the Kenes team has allowed us to be affiliated with a recognised industry leader, and this partnership has helped us to win a record amount of business in a relatively short time frame.
“Looking at our pipeline over the next year alone and the track record we’re building here in the UK, we are excited that our business plan is succeeding and we are confident that profitability is set to grow year on year from 2012."
Congresses to be managed by Kenes UK in 2012 include the 6th Biennial Conference of the International Society for Affective Disorders (ISAD), the 6th International Congress of the World Federation of Skull Base Societies, the 8th International Conference on Frontotemporal Dementias (FTD), Laryngology 2012 and the European Congress of Immunology (ECI).
Annual conferences include the British Gynaecological Cancer Society (BGCS), the British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology (BSACI), the International Spinal Cord Society (IsCOS) and the International Paediatric Sleep Association (IPSA).
