Hairy goings on at Mo-tivcom as male staff raise cash for cancer

04/11/2011

Things are set to get very hairy at Motivcom this month, as 44 male employees battle it out to grow the bushiest moustache and raise money for prostate and testicular cancer campaign, Movember.

Nigel Cooper, divisional managing director for the event divisions of Motivcom PLC, and Chris Parnham, Zibrant’s managing director – Operations, have initiated a face-off and are competing to grow the most upper lip hair.

Nearly four times as many ‘Motivcom mo bros’ are taking part in the fundraiser this year as last, with Zibrant leading the way with 28 mo-growers followed by P&MM with 16.

Parnham said: “Around a dozen of us participated in the Movember initiative last year but we are delighted to see such an increase in turnout for 2011. There are quite a number of lady-specific health awareness campaigns in existence so it is great that our gentlemen employees have an opportunity to take part in an initiative for male health.”

The typical facial hair growth for a man is half an inch in a month, so the company is aiming for a combined total length of at least 22 inches.
