The MotivAction Group creates its own charity day, 'Sunflower Day'

09/11/2011

Motivation, communication and events agency, The MotivAction Group, has created its own charity day, Sunflower Day, to support the company’s programme, The Sunflower Project.

Held on the first Friday of November every year, staff are encouraged to come in wearing MotivAction colours – yellow or gold – to raise money for the charities they have voted to support. The first Sunflower Day was held at MotivAction’s offices in Ardeley on 4 November.

The Sunflower Project supports charities that are local to The MotivAction Group – Garden House Hospice and Wood Green Animal Shelters. Fundraising and volunteering events have included a Halloween-themed quiz lunch, cake baking, a Valentine’s Day love quiz, raffles, a car wash, volunteering and donations for the charity shops.

David Buxton, managing director of The MotivAction Group, said: “Our first Sunflower Day was a great success. Everyone in the company supported the fundraiser, with some very creative costumes. I am sure it will keep getting bigger and wackier every year. The Sunflower Project keeps reinforcing how dedicated and connected MotivAction staff are to their local community.”
