easyFairs UK has support of shareholders in growth bid

22/11/2011

Trade show organiser easyFairs UK has reported that is in a phase of ‘exciting growth and acquisition’, despite filing accounts showing net current liabilities of £3m.

Managing director Matthew Benyon said the UK arm of easyFairs NV, based in Belgium, had the full support of its parent company, Artexis and Partners SA (owner of four European exhibition centres).
He added that the group as a whole, which has offices across Europe, had increased revenue by 28 per cent to €35.7m in the 2010-11 financial year and aimed to reach at least €50m in revenue by 2014.

“As a young company, we are going through an exciting growth and acquisition phase and of course it goes without saying that our parent company backs our plans and strategy fully,” he said.

“We project further growth, both as a UK company as well as a group next year. easyFairs UK has a number of new show launches planned for 2012 as well as being in advanced negotiations with one or more potential acquisitions.”

New events in the UK include Lab Innovations, an exhibition of laboratory technology, launching at Birmingham NEC in November 2012; while Packaging Ireland is to be expanded in its third year to cover the whole supply chain – packaging, processing and logistics. Other shows include Business North West; Business Midlands; and Irish food, retail and hospitality show IFEX.
