Second day of EIBTM takes flight with no strike disruption

30/11/2011

Visitors to EIBTM in Barcelona flying in and out of the UK today (Wednesday) have not suffered disruption according to the show's organiser, RTE.

Show director Graeme Barnett said that - so far - flights had not been disrupted by the public sector strikes affecting border control at UK airports. 250 UK hosted buyers were scheduled to arrive today, while 150 are booked on flights home.

He said: "I’m delighted to let you know that all UK airports are operating an excellent immigration service and there has been no impact on flights into the UK today.

“Hosted buyers and others due to fly to the UK tonight are not expected to experience any delays.  However, we will have two staff at Barcelona Airport Terminal 1 (BA desk) and Terminal 2 (easyJet/Monarch) to ensure that assistance is immediately available, should any be required."
