James Samuel makes move from Reed to International Confex

01/12/2011

UBM has appointed James Samuel as event manager of International Confex. He joins from Reed Exhibitions, where he has worked for the past 10 years, most recently on the ILTM (International Luxury Travel Market) portfolio and prior to that, EIBTM. He was also involved in the launch of GIBTM in Abu Dhabi and the re-engineering of CIBTM in Beijing.

In his new role Samuel will be responsible for ensuring the success of  Confex – which takes place from 6-8 March at ExCeL London – as well demonstrating return on investment for the show’s visitors and exhibitors.

“I’ve always had a huge amount of respect for International Confex and there could not be a more exciting time to be joining,” said Samuel. “We have a great team, a brilliant product, and a world class brand; we also have a collective ambition that can see this show forward into 2012 and beyond.”

Jonny Sullens, portfolio director, International Confex, added: “We wanted to bring in someone that had the right balance of experience and who would represent both our visitors and exhibitors.
James has the experience, the foresight, and the energy to take the show forward in line with the Confex vision; he will be a real asset to the team.”
