06/12/2011

Universal WorldEvents Asia has had a successful year with new clients including HR consulting firm, Mercer, the UK International Cultural Relations Body and the British Council. The company has also won contracts with three leading pharmaceutical companies.

The Hong Kong office has grown its operations over the past six months with a number of new appointments and a move to larger premises with additional space. New staff included Gareth Gallagher as account director, Rachel Cheung as project manager and Kaman Ng and Leilani Chan as project executives.

James Thompson, the company’s business director has been seconded to Asia to help develop the office’s existing client list, increase the team and to concentrate on new client development.

Thompson said: “The Asian market is going to become increasingly important in the years ahead and it is vital we are able to take advantage of the growing opportunity. We are thrilled at these new business wins, especially as they have come from both our target sector of the pharmaceutical industry as well as new sectors. We look forward to working with our clients to deliver a number of successful and memorable events for the remainder of 2011 and beyond.’’
