Meeting Needs provides sustainable power for Zambian schoolchildren

12/12/2011

Events industry charity Meetings Industry Meeting Needs (MIMN) has donated £6,000 to provide solar panels for Twapia Secondary School in Ndola, Zambia. This is to install solar panels to provide sustainable lighting and power for classroom computers in this new school being constructed by Build It, a charity that specialises in construction projects and has completed 14 projects in the last four years. The school will provide secondary education for 1,000 students.

There are five projects under construction currently in Zambia, one of the poorest countries in the world, and MIMN has worked with Build It on other projects in the region.

MIMN executive committee member David Hackett said: “This is the kind of sustainable project that we love to help with. Build It is an exceptional organisation we are delighted to support their work.”
