28/12/2011

London-based brand experience agency Jack Morton Worldwide will create the spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks display on behalf of the Mayor of London for the eighth consecutive year.

It is estimated that more than 200,000 people will line the banks of the Thames to experience the spectacle, which will also be broadcast live to millions of viewers by the BBC
. BBC Radio 1's award-winning DJ, Nihal is once again working in collaboration with the Jack Morton team on the soundtrack that will accompany the display.

Jim Donald, executive producer, Jack Morton Worldwide, said: “Each year our goal is to exceed expectations. We are honoured to have the opportunity to help showcase London to the world at the beginning of one of the most significant years in the capital’s history.”

The Mayor of London Boris Johnson added: “2012 will open, not with a timid whimper, but a colourful bang, a noisy clarion call to herald one amazing year. Londoners know how to celebrate and our fireworks display will be the first in a year long celebration of all things London. From the magic of the Games, to the Diamond Jubilee, to the London 2012 Festival and our own outdoor arts festival, there will be world-class events in every corner of the capital, to create a summer like no other.”

Jack Morton Worldwide is working in conjunction with multiple agencies across the capital to plan and deliver the event, including Greater London Authority, Metropolitan Police, Westminster City and Lambeth Borough Councils, Transport for London, The Port of London Authority and London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade.
