India became the latest country to be represented in IAPCO – the International Association of Professional Congress Organisers – after KW Conferences was given the nod. The PCO organised the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property Exco and Forum 2011 in Hyderabad, which was attended by 662 delegates from 62 countries.
IAPCO Council member, Roslyn McLeod, who went to India to review the meeting, said the company excelled in difficult circumstances.
“I did not encounter one criticism,” she said. “Their performance was seamless despite the fact that they had to move social events due to predicted rain following on storms and floods. They will make a good member of IAPCO and bring credit within India due to their high standing."
Convention Linkage, based in Chiyoda-ku, Japan, was also admitted into IAPCO, bringing the number of individual members to 116 and the number of countries represented to 41. Two other applications for membership have been rejected this year and seven remain ‘pending’.
Philippe Fournier, IAPCO president, said: “IAPCO continues to be extremely diligent about membership applications to continue striving for quality.”
