The Garfit Group has kicked off 2012 by landing a logistics contract with an Olympic sponsor.
Venue finding manager Paul Newton said: “The client is a sponsor who is getting hospitality as part of a package but we’re doing all of the surrounding logistics; all of the flights, accommodation, private dinners, activities, coaches from the airport to the hotel and coaches into London.
"It is a significant win for us and one of the main reasons we were successful was because of our financial security as a company. As we have been ATOL bonded for 14 years and have a high credit rating, the client felt secure."
The incentive will run from August 5-10, with attendees from eight divisions of the company across Europe each coming for two days and two nights.
“The delegates have activities and dinner on the first day and then go to the Games the following day. While they’re doing that the next group will be arriving. The group sizes vary but in total there are 180 delegates who are all clients of the sponsor,” said Newton.
The delegates will stay at the Marriott Hanbury Manor in Hertfordshire, rather than in central London.
Newton explained: “We chose the hotel because it’s close to London but also because it gives the delegates, who are mostly from outside of the UK, a British country experience. They will be able to take part in activities such as golf, archery and clay pigeon shooting.”
The lucrative contract win comes after The Garfit Group hosted three events for the company in 2011. They have also been tasked with organising a meeting in Manchester next month.
Meanwhile, other activity in 2012 sees the Surrey-based agency running a number of golf and ski events for regular clients, along with an incentive in Las Vegas for a textile renting and laundering company and two conferences for independent electrical buyers groups at Mazagan Resort in Casablanca, Morocco and in Lisbon, Portugal.
