Drpgroup's green initiatives prune £62,455 from clients' bills

12/01/2012

Events and communication agency drpgroup saved clients £62,455 last year and reduced its own costs by more than £5,500 through sustainability and environmental initiatives.

The success came following a number of strategies, from small initiatives such as a reduction in the use of vinyl and banner material, to larger changes including the adoption of fully online registration portals, which saved 30.8 trees worth of paper.

The company also retained certified accreditation for both the ISO:14001 and BS8901 environmental management standards which it won in 2010, through a
more measurement-focused approach.

Dale Parmenter, group managing director, said:
“The company were keen to make sustainability ‘real’. At the start of 2011 we set every department a challenge to come up with at least one tangible and measurable sustainable improvement. The team really got behind the challenge and the results were staggering.”
