Corporate online hotel booking company, Hotelzon is seeking
to grow its presence in South American and Asian markets this year, building
on the successes of 2011, according to CEO, Jani Kaskinen.
Last year Hotelzon relocated its European headquarters to London and struck a worldwide
agreement with global distribution system (GDS) giant Travelport, which Kaskinen
said significantly boosted hotel bookings. It also acquired HVO Hotel Booking
Company, one of Europe’s largest hotel booking
agents.
Kaskinen said Hotelzon was currently undertaking feasibility
studies into increasing its online presence in the developing markets of South
America and Asia. Development of technology
for mobile phones and tablet devices would also be a key focus in 2012 as Cloud
services become more cost effective and scalable across the world.
He added: “We have seen a paradigm shift in our business
model progressing from a service provider to a technology company and we are
now seen as a leader in online systems for the online travel agent community.”
