Lord’s Cricket Ground has been named the UK’s number one sporting venue and awarded gold accreditation for 2011 in BDRC Continental’s VenueVerdict Awards.
The home of English cricket was recognised for the exemplary customer service it provides corporate clients, and was found to have the highest net promoter score (customer satisfaction score) of any eligible sporting venue in the UK.
Diversifying to offer a venue for the meetings and events market has significantly increased Lord’s non-match day profits, with repeat corporate clients for 2012 including Mint Event Management, Business in Sport and Leisure Limited, and the International Wine Challenge.
Meetings and events sales manager for Lord’s, Nick Kenton, said: “We are delighted with this award as it is a testimony to the professionalism of all our departments involved in meetings and events. Having been recognised as the UK’s number one sporting venue, it is important that we continue to demonstrate our commitment to customer service through 2012 and beyond.”
A range of venues are available around the ground, including the iconic nursery pavilion which can cater for up to 600 people for lunch or dinner, with complimentary room hire for numbers above 250.
