Noodle bar chain wagamama has appointed The Tailor of Shoreditch as its lead marketing agency, kicking off activities with a 20th anniversary celebration event for all of its UK staff members earlier this week.

Other activities planned for 2012 includes road-shows, social media and both internal and consumer-facing events.

The anniversary event took place at the Ministry of Sound in London and was themed ‘20 years of noodles + music’ to celebrate the anniversary. Entertainment was provided by Hot Chip and Zinc with supporting DJs from the wagamama lounge tour.

The agency kept the '20 years theme' running throughout the event - reflecting it throughout the venue and activities. The different rooms of the club were individually themed to represent music from the last two decades.

The Tailor of Shoreditch – which was set up by Ian Irving last year and whose client list includes Benefit cosmetics, Lee Jeans, New Era and Citroen - was also responsible for co-ordinating transport for staff from 20 different nationwide locations.

Ingrid Williamson, marketing director for wagamama, said: “This is the 20th event we’ve thrown for our staff, and whilst every one is equally as important, this one is a little more special. It’s our way of saying thank you to our staff and it had to have a real wow factor. We were impressed with the creativity shown by Tailor which I’m sure impressed and excited our staff.”
