Confex aims to impress not-for-profit market with 'Association Day'

06/02/2012

Buyers and planners of association-run events are the target of International Confex’s newly unveiled ‘Association Day’, an educational conference combining practical workshop with speakers.

The conference, on 6 March, will allow delegates to choose from more than 22 workshops on subjects ranging from employment law, VAT, procurement, and the bribery act.

Lord Tom King will be discussing how to work more productively with government, as the industry seeks to raise its profile in Westminster, while Lucian Tarnowski will discuss how to build online communities.

Head of business & events at the Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Lorraine Reese said: “The programme line-up for the 2012 (Association Day) event is looking brilliant, with lots of really interesting sessions and workshops taking place. The tailored educational content is a big plus for me and I’m particularly interested in attending the ‘Decision making in Westminster and Whitehall’ session.”

Organisers said the response to the programme had been overwhelming with the Medical Protection Society, British Medical Association and Management Consultancies Society already signed up.

Jonny Sullens, Portfolio Director for Confex Group, said: “The association market continues to be a critical sector to the UK events industry and we’re delighted with the quality of content on show during Association Day. Visitors to Confex come for two reasons: great education and great exhibitors, association planners will have both in abundance this year.”
