The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) has kicked off the year by scheduling five new exhibitions and 30 major conferences for 2012.

The 30 conferences are expected to bring over 30,000 delegates, experts and government officials from all over the world to Hong Kong and the HKCEC. The conferences cover a diverse range of topics, from medical science, dentistry, clinical pharmacy and yoga to bridge and tunnel construction, acoustics, finance and engineering.

The 2012 FDI Annual World Dental Congress will take place at the HKCEC this August – its centenary event is expected to attract around 10,000 oral health professionals to the city.

Monica Lee-Müller,  deputy director managing director at HKCEC's private management company HML, said: “At HML, we aim to build close business partnerships with our event clients. We offer powerful incentives to attract new events and encourage continued growth of recurrent exhibitions. It is gratifying to see such a successful start to 2012."
