BI Worldwide's gross profit up 20 per cent to £1.6 million

BI Worldwide said that it had seen a good start to its latest financial year, with gross profit up 20 per cent year-on-year to £1.6m and turnover up 40 per cent to £6m for the same period.

The Milton-Keynes based business said that during the first half of its current financial year (July to the end of December 2011) business had been strong and its pipeline was more than three times the size it was two years ago – reaching record levels of business since BI entered the market in 2001.

In its last full accounts - for the year ending 30 June 2011 - BI Worldwide reported that it had seen ‘its best performance in a decade’, with an operating profit of £513k, a 172 per cent improvement compared to the previous year’s loss of £706k. Turnover for the year increased 18.3 per cent to £19.32m, up from £16.3m on the previous year. Gross profit for 2011 also increased 28.5 per cent to £6.6m.

The company enjoyed significant wins during the year with 
Toyota, Lexus and Dell. Other client wins were in the manufacturing and finance sectors.

David Battley, director of events said: "Whilst all our business areas are improved, we have seen a noticeable improvement in client spend on communication events for employees and customers, as well as a significant pick up in event needs from our European and global client base."
