Two-thirds of event professionals will be
booking smaller and more frequent events according to a survey undertaken by
Venue Reservations at its 10th birthday showcase.
Corporate buyers, venue clients and
agents from across the industry attended the event at Church House Conference
Centre where they were invited to answer questions aimed at determining 2012’s
industry trends. Sixty five per cent of those that answered also believed 2012 will see
a migration away from London,
indicating that improved facilities, budget constraints and venue availability
during the Olympics may play a part in determining event locations.
Group director of the Crown Group, which operates Venue
Reservations, Jackie Harding, said: “This research gives us further insight
into what event professionals are anticipating over the coming year, and arms
us with the knowledge and foresight to be able to support the industry with
their changing requirements.”
The event, part of an ongoing programme of celebrations planned
for 2012, which included various social media features and competitions,
provided guests a broader understanding of the Venue Reservations nationwide
portfolio and saw sister-company Kudos, the food and venue experts, treat guests
with a wide selection of canapés.
Harding added: “We are exceptionally proud of Venue Reservations
and are delighted to be able to celebrate 10 years of providing free-venue
finding and event planning services to our clients. We work in a highly competitive
industry and we are proud to say that we have a very unique business model that
really gets the best for our venue clients and events experts. We have seen
many changes in the industry over the years and whilst we’ve had to adapt to
fast-changing times, our principles and values have always remained the same.”
