ACC Liverpool appoints trio of senior managers

ACC Liverpool, home to BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena, has made three senior appointments.

Kerry Quinn has joined as the new operations director at the Kings Dock venue.  She joins from Cardiff Airport where she was airport director.Her appointment completes the nine-strong senior management team at ACC.

Quinn said: “Having worked in the aviation sector for 13 years, I have first-hand experience of dealing with venues which are used to handling large volumes of people and where the emphasis is on customer service. Joining ACC Liverpool will give me the opportunity to use this experience and I look forward to the exciting challenges ahead.”

Phil Pickett, previously general manager of operations, has been appointed to the role of project director with specific responsibility for the new exhibition centre, due to open in autumn 2014.

Pickett, who helped manage the construction and fit out phases of the original ACC Liverpool, will lead the multi-million pound development on behalf of the company. It will provide a further 8,100 sqm of exhibition space and is expected to bring £40m per year to the region.

Meanwhile Lynsey Watson has been appointed as the new head of human resources, replacing John Barry who has emigrated to Australia after five years with the company. She has worked in human resources for the last nine years in the private, public and not for profit sector.

ACC Liverpool posted a turnover of £14.5m compared to just over £13m for the previous 12-month period, for figures based on audited accounts for the year ended 31 March 2011.
