Interest in Russia snowballs thanks to 2014 Winter Olympics

29/02/2012

Representation company Uniqueworld has taken on destination management partners in Russia and Croatia to support growing demand for events in those countries.

Commercial director and co founder Andrew Harvey said the 2014 Winter Olympics in Russia were fuelling interest in both Sochi, where the Games are taking place, and St Petersburg, while improved flight access was boosting enquiries for Croatia. UK-based Uniqueworld is now working with Russkie Prostori in Russia and Atlas DMC in Croatia.

“Croatia has been on our radar for some time and we are delighted to be working with Atlas,” said Harvey. “It works as a great alternative southern European destination with a spectacular coastline, and some great new resorts.

“We already have a medical event booked into Dubrovnik for this summer and we have several pending enquiries with both Dubrovnik and the Split area.”

Uniqueworld now represents more than twenty DMCs across the world and is currently in talks with a potential partner in Asia. To support the growth, the company has recently invested in a new website www.uniqueworld.eu with enhanced social media channels.
