M&IT’s online auction raises more than £25,000 for charity

01/03/2012

The online auction staged to raise cash for Save The Children raised more than £25,000. The auction was organised by Meetings & Incentive Travel magazine via this web site www.meetpie.com.

The cash goes towards the target of £50,000 to refurbish and equip two maternity facilities in Mozambique. It is hoped the surplus will come from an on the night raffle at the Meetings & Incentive Travel Industry Awards Dinner on Monday evening at London’s Westminster Park Plaza Hotel. In total the auction attracted more than 1567 bids for 86 lots.

M&IT’s managing editor Martin Lewis said: “This is a fantastic result that puts us on our way to the overall target. I would like to thank all those who donated auction lots and all those who participated in the bidding process.”
