Conference Care gets wet and wild to improve management leadership

12/03/2012

The management team at Conference Care took the plunge to participate in an unusual team building experience at the RNLI College at Poole.

The Sea Survival Experience sees participants undertake the same training that RNLI lifeboat crews rely upon to save lives at sea.

Chris Peacock, director of venue finding specialist Conference Care and current chairman of the Hotel Booking Agents Association (HBAA), said: “Our aims for the day were to develop confidence within the team and encourage situational leadership in extraordinary circumstances.

“The RNLI is also the HBAA’s charity of the year, and once we knew that this specialist training was available and would also support a really worthwhile cause, it was an easy decision to make.”

He added: “After completing the experience, it’s amazing that team members see each other in new and sometimes surprising ways. Everyone who took part felt a great sense of pride, and there is a real increase in camaraderie among the team and a feeling that anything is possible.”
