ISES launches first Midlands-based event in Birmingham

IET Venue Austin Court in Birmingham will host The International Special Events Society
07/03/2012

IET Venues' Austin Court in Birmingham will host The International Special Events Society’s (ISES) first Midlands-based event on 13 March.

Initiated by Philip Atkins, ISES board member and managing director of hospitality recruitment agency Off To Work, and supported by Marketing Birmingham, it is hoped the event will utilise ISES as a platform to share best practice and raise the profile of the creative events industry in the Midlands.

Commercial director at Marketing Birmingham, Ian Taylor, said: “Birmingham looks forward to hosting ISES’ first event in the Midlands. The city is proud of its reputation as the UK’s meeting place, welcoming and delivering major events like no other, thanks to an enviable range of venues and accommodation, an accessible and well-connected city centre and a rich leisure offering to suit delegates of all interests.”

Atkins added: “As the UK’s second largest city and an already thriving creative events destination, it seemed a logical next step in the continued growth of ISES.  We hope the event will provide our guests with an introduction to ISES and how to use the association as a platform to build business connections both in the UK and internationally.”
