Venue sourcing and event management agency Conference Care has created an ‘International Team’ following a 20 per cent increase in overseas enquiries. The five event consultants, all handpicked for their experience in international venue finding, all speak a second language, either French, Spanish or German.
Work relating to international events is now approaching 15 per cent of business at the Coventry-based agency, with the FMCG and finance sectors in particular showing increased demand in overseas events. In addition to well established European destinations including France, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands, it is also seeing increased demand in the Far East, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Operations manager Louise Harwood said: “Whilst many of our clients are based in the UK, we have seen a 20 percent increase in overseas enquiries since 2010. We recognised that although all our event team are confident in international venue sourcing, by creating a specialised bespoke team we are able to harness our expertise and provide unrivalled service in this field to support the increasing demand.”
This month the International Team has hosted venue open days to enhance their knowledge and identify best practice when handling overseas enquiries. They will also be attending forthcoming exhibitions including IMEX and EIBTM.
Pippa Wells, one of the new international event consultants, said: “There is a wealth of information available to event planners when searching for venues overseas, and it can be difficult to stay ahead of what’s new or different, especially if language is a barrier. Being part of the International Team adds another dimension to the personalised service we offer.”
