A team of hospitality students from Leeds Metropolitan University has once again been awarded the coveted MPI Young Achievers Award.

Five different universities competing for the title were given one week to prepare a proposal for a Swiss destination and present it live on stage at The Barbican in London this week.

The winning team from Leeds Met was made up of Annie Metcalfe, Steven Wade and Judith Robinson who were representing Montreux. The other competitors included Dublin Institute of Technology representing Bern, Sheffield Hallam University representing Lucerne, University of Surrey representing Davos Klosters and University of Westminster representing Basel.

The judging panel was made up industry professionals; Amanda Edgecumbe (Powwow), John Denham (Vantage Point) and Richard Parker (Zibrant), Paul Cook (Planet Planit) and Chris Clarke (P&MM).

Miguel Neves from MPI UK & Ireland Chapter said: “The winning team will benefit not only from significant industry exposure and a curriculum enhancing title, but also a fantastic trip to Switzerland, courtesy of our partners the Switzerland Convention & Incentive Bureau.”
