Events and destination management partnership Euromic
has announced a new affiliate in Dubai. The company, Emeco DMC, is a
result of the merger between Egypt’s Emeco Travel and Dubai’s Al
Abjar Tourism, two leading tourism companies founded in 1977 and
2003, respectively.
Speaking at
the IMEX trade show in Frankfurt, Elhamy ElZayat, chairman and CEO of
Cairo-based Emeco Travel, said: “We are moving into
Dubai as we are well known in this part of the world, with more than 35 years
of experience; but also to be frank, we are also doing this now because of the
downturn in business in Egypt. We have to make up our losses."
Karim Aly, Emeco DMC’s general manager, added: “We are excited to introduce
many more visitors to the bustling souks and
majestic desert of Dubai through this prestigious
association.”
The United Arab Emirates marks Euromic’s 36th international
destination.
