Fiat and Emporio Armani add flavour to 'Casa Italia' at QEIICC

21/05/2012

Fiat, Emporio Armani, Kinder and Banca Intesa are among the official sponsors of the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) for 'Casa Italia' at The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London during this summer's Games.

The QEIICC will be transformed into 'Casa Italia' in order to host the Italian delegation for the duration of the Olympic and Paralympic Games from July.

Intesa San Paolo will be the main sponsor of the Italian team for the London 2012 Olympics, while Fiat vehicles will be kept available in front of the conference centre to provide transport for the Italian athletes. Armani is the official outfitter of the Italian Olympic and Paralympic team and will have an on-site merchandise store as well as a hosting presence for invited guests.

Raffaele Pagnozzi, general secretary of CONI, said: "We are delighted to have so many famous worldwide brands supporting the Azzurri (the Italian Olympic team). The athletes will be the main ambassadors and communicators of 'Made in Italy' and for this we must thank our partners who believed in and supported us. The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre will breathe the scent of Italy."

Sue Etherington, commercial director, the QEIICC, added: “With under three months to go, we are working very closely with CONI, and the plans for transforming the QEIICC into Casa Italia are going well. It is very exciting to see the involvement of these high-profile global brands with CONI and Casa Italia, and to work with them on their plans to transform the Centre into a unique Casa Italia for the London 2012 Games. We are delighted to be working with them.”
