Forget London, ATP Event Experts is already planning for Rio

TP Event Experts says it is already planning for the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro to secure event spaces
29/05/2012

The London Olympic Games are less than two months away, but ATP Event Experts said it is already planning for the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro, with a dedicated team set to visit the Brazilian city to prepare.

The corporate hospitality and events company said it has clients from around the world making enquiries for event spaces in the South American destination, with its staff working with partners in Rio to plan logistics and site inspections on hotels, restaurants and other venues.

ATP suggested that businesses thinking about hospitality for the 2016 Olympics should start their own planning soon – as, wherever the Olympics is held, a long lead-in time is required to secure good venues and hotels.

PJ Mitchell, director of business development for ATP Event Experts, said: “Despite the London Games having not even started, those involved in moving sports teams, selling tickets and planning events are already deep into the development stages for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

“Our events teams have been preparing for the 2016 Games events since the day after the announcement was made. With Brazil as an exciting and booming economy, interest in the corporate sector is high – a South American profile is high on the agenda of many major international businesses, and competition is fierce, particularly in the events sector.”

For the London Olympics, ATP is the official ticket and travel agent for the Dutch National Olympic Committee.
