Ripley’s Believe It or Not! has opened its London attraction, right on Piccadilly Circus, to events and hosted around 300 industry professionals at the venue last night.

Although it had a soft opening earlier in the year, London’s Ripley’s Believe It Or Not - the largest of the worldwide chain of 33 museums of the odd, strange, wonderful and unbelievable at 2,400 sqm and six storeys - officially opened its doors on 27 June, saying that its spaces – which can host up to 450 guests – are ideal for functions.

Natascha Crump, general manager of Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, said: “There is something for everyone here. Our exhibits can be fun, educational or interesting, and our spaces are the perfect places to go wild with decoration and branding.”

Crump also pointed to the newest display in the London museum - a line up of 31 Olympic torches going all the way back to the Berlin Olympics in 1936. The only one missing was one from this year’s games, in London itself, but that can only be a matter of time.

Among the displays catching the attention of M&IT were a blue-faced man, a mammoth and portraits of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Sting and Whitney Houston made from registration plates, sweets, carved phonebooks and a cassette tape, respectively. Interactive sections include a revolving tunnel that disconcerts as you walk along a 'non-moving' walkway and a maze of mirrors that is troublesome to negotiate and escape from.
