Formula One events company races to buy BSL Middle East

02/07/2012

Motorsport hospitality and events company Halcyon Events Limited has acquired BSL Middle East, which will continue to operate as an international sponsorship and events management consultancy business, retaining its offices in Abu Dhabi and Wimbledon.

Chris Buncombe and Richard Williams, co-founders of Halcyon and both former professional drivers, said: “We see the acquisition of BSL as a consolidation of our motorsport operations, whilst at the same time expanding the group internationally and diversifying into other event fields. There are very obvious synergies in both businesses, which is why BSL was at the top of our list when looking for potential targets to acquire.”

Halcyon is linked to a number of teams, drivers and senior personnel within Formula One, including Vodafone McLaren Mercedes driver Jenson Button, with the company supporting the Jenson Button Trust. It is also approved by Formula One management as an 'official distributor' for the Formula One Paddock Club, the exclusive hospitality staging areas set up at each Formula One race.
