Croatia has become the latest country to be represented in the ranks of Europe’s leading network of professional congress organisers (PCOs). The Croatian Meeting Professionals Association (CMPA) has become the 14th national organisation to join EFAPCO, the European Federation of the Associations of Professional Congress Organisers.
EFAPCO president, Luisa Teixeira, said: “The Croatian Meeting Professionals Association has made tremendous progress since its formation in 2011. It already has 65 members – 41 full and 24 associate. We are in discussions with leading PCOs in other countries who are keen to see the formation of their own national association so that they can also become actively involved within the EFAPCO network.”
CMPA VP, Ranko Filipovic, said: “We’re proud to have been invited into EFAPCO membership, the first association in our region of Europe to join the federation. Becoming a full member of such a prominent association is a major step forward in CMPA’s development and in the evolution of the Croatian meetings industry, especially when Croatia is about to become a full member of the European Union."
The first CMPA Annual Assembly and Education took place in Zagreb recently, while a chapter meeting is due to take place next week in Dubrovnik.
