CWT broadens Irish presence with AC Events acquisition

23/08/2012

Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) has acquired Dublin-based AC Events International Ltd (AC Events) through its UK subsidiary, Carlson Wagonlit UK Ltd. AC Events, which has provided meetings and events management services to corporations since 2005 and has been working in association with CWT since 2008, will be fully integrated into CWT Ireland’s operations.

Aine Corrigan, former owner of AC Events, will remain in the company as director of CWT Meeting & Events Ireland, reporting to Lisa Whelan, country director of CWT Ireland.

Whelan said: “This acquisition will strengthen CWT’s presence in Ireland and will help to broaden CWT’s offering to its Irish customers. Aine Corrigan’s strong experience of the meetings and events business will allow her to bring additional insight and help further drive our meetings and events activities.”

The integration of AC Events - the sale resulted in no job losses - has begun and will continue over the coming months.
