More leading brands sign up as Meeting Needs charity partners

29/08/2012

Five more leading event industry brands have joined the growing group of big names financially supporting event industry charity Meetings Industry Meeting Needs (MIMN).

Off Limits Corporate Events, Unique Venues of London, Trev Hospitality Skills Training, The Association of British Professional Conference Organisers and AddingValue have all signed for a year’s Charity Partner status to bolster MIMN’s fund-raising and spread the charity’s influence.

MIMN – a registered charity - was set up to enable the event industry to raise funds and distribute to good causes lacking government support or the wherewithal for major fund-raising. Often these good causes are connected to those working in the events industry and in the past year more than £80,000 worth of projects have been funded in the UK and overseas. The charity is operated entirely with volunteer staff.

MIMN executive committee member Peter Rand MBE said he was delighted with the new additions. “We have now attracted most of the top event agencies to join us as Charity Partners. Being part of MIMN is an excellent way to be consistently involved in corporate social responsibility at some level for even the smallest of companies. We hope that others will join us.”
