IMEX America tempts associations with details of Smart Monday

05/09/2012

The final programme for IMEX America’s Association Focus event has been unveiled.

A day of education for association buyers, called Smart Monday – Powered by MPI, will take place on Monday, October 8 – a day ahead of the three-day meetings and events trade show in Las Vegas.

Business leadership expert and author, Mark Sanborn, has been confirmed as keynote speaker while associations ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership, ICCA, the International Congress and Convention and PCMA, the Professional Convention Management Association, will provide an extensive learning programme.

Organisers claim the event is unique in being exclusive to association planners. Guest speaker Sanborn, is a member of the prestigious Speakers Roundtable, a society comprising 20 of the top speakers in the world today.

The programme has been designed with tracks tailored to suit different levels of seniority and career development including a choice of ‘executive’, ‘global’ and ‘meetings’ sessions, each devised by partner associations.

Later in the day delegates will have a choice of more than 20 different round-table discussions followed by a networking reception to meet and network with exhibitors and association partners.

Carina Bauer, CEO of the IMEX Group, said: “Following our debut event we took on board a lot of feedback from the US market - Association Focus is just one of the building blocks of IMEX America that has been redeveloped since last year to improve and enhance the show. We are really excited to be welcoming around 200 association executives to Las Vegas for this event and are especially grateful to our sponsors – The Venetian®| The Palazzo® and Sands Meetings for making this possible.”

Registration for the IMEX America Association Focus on Smart Monday is now open. www.imexamerica.com/associationfocus.html#HowToAttend
