The Duke and Duchess of Northumberland will host an exclusive dinner for conference and event organisers at their London home, Syon House on behalf of the NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau (NGCB).
The networking dinner to be held at Syon House on 26 September – the Duke and Duchess’ London home since 1594 – will showcase the Newcastle/Gateshead area to approximately 90 London-based planners. At Syon House, they will also get the chance to see its gardens designed by Capability Brown in the 18th Century. The evening will consist of a drinks reception followed by dinner in The Great Conservatory.
Adrian Evans, the NGCB’s senior business tourism manager, said: “We are incredibly grateful to the Duke and Duchess for agreeing to open Syon House up to us and for joining us for the evening. Conference and event organisers will be joined by colleagues from some of the destination’s top venues. We recognise that buyers can’t always get out of London, so we wanted to bring a flavour of the place directly to them.”
In attendance will be officials from the Alnwick Garden and Alnwick Castle – the Duke & Duchess’ Northumberland home; the destination’s newest property, Hotel Indigo, which includes a Marco Pierre White steak house; Sunderland Football Club; University of Sunderland, and The Sage Gateshead, among others.
