Exhibition & Conference Centre (SECC) in Glasgow has revealed its strongest
year to date for conference and corporate events business, achieving a 17 per
cent increase in turnover.
The venue also improved gross profits by 18 per cent on 2014/15 figures, after hosting 57
conferences and corporate events. Of these, 31 were national, European and
director of conferences, said: “This year has been yet another incredible year
for the SECC, driven by a strong performance in the international conference
sector, as well as with national association meetings and smaller corporate
events too – which continue to be growth sectors for the business.

its health credentials last year, serving healthier menus that included low
fat, low sugar and low alcohol options, and launching a scheme to provide free
bikes to delegates, in collaboration with Nextbike.

In addition, SECC
expanded its offering in the small meetings market, with the launch of a new
meetings package, ‘Wee Too’. This offers options for 50-500 delegates across
its 17 conference rooms.
