Manchester Central has almost doubled summer event numbers since 2014.

The North England venue will have held 79 days of events by the end of this month, up from 40 in summer 2014, saying the season has been one of the busiest yet. Events such as the consumer shows MCM Comic Con and Bricktastic have helped underline the figures.

Angie Robinson, CEO of Manchester Central, said: "Although July and August are traditionally quieter months for events, our venue is busier than ever. That said, we’ve seen an increase in utilisation all year-round – which led us to break previous records with our most recent FYE results.

"We continue to attract some of the world’s leading conferences and exhibitions however Manchester Central’s reputation for outstanding event delivery is increasingly appealing to a much wider range of organisers and has allowed us to successfully expand our scope throughout the last two years."
