CEO of drp and events industry stalwart Dale Parmenter has been inducted into the EVCOM Fellowship, joining the likes of Lord Attenborough and Kevin Spacey. The ceremony at the House of Lords also celebrated the career of legendary PR guru Lynne Franks, who was inducted as well.

Parmenter, who founded drp and built it into a full service agency, said he was humbled to receive the recognition. He told the lunch that a successful business boiled down to its staff. "Employees are the most powerful source of a business," he said. Parmenter employs more than 180 people and said he believes in developing his team through consistent investment in training. drp has appeared in the Sunday Times best 100 companies to work for list and has been awarded the IIP Gold standard.

Parmenter was also instrumental in the creation of EVCOM from industry associations Eventia and IVCA. Last year as the company celebrated its 35th anniversary, Parmenter urged his staff to participate in 35 CSR challenges while hosting a fleet of other celebrations.

He and Franks join other EVCOM Fellows, including John Simpson, Baroness Martha Lane Fox, Lord Attenborough, Bob Geldof, Sir Trevor MacDonald, Dame Anita Roddick, Sir Bruce Forsyth, Lord Michael Grade, Kevin Spacey and Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson.

Parmenter said: "I am overwhelmed to be honoured with this fellowship award. I'm fascinated by the power of communication and I have a particular passion for internal comms. If we're not obsessed with our people, we will never realise true profit, shareholder value, creativity or innovation, and our values and culture will stand for very little. Communication is not just about one channel; it's the ability to control and use multiple channels at the same time, and today we are blessed with a multitude of toys in our communication box. Thank you to EVCOM, I'm extremely proud to be recognised as a Fellow for the industry."

The 2016 EVCOM Fellowship Lunch in association with GROSVENORFILM was hosted by Lord Watson of Richmond. The event brought together EVCOM members, leading professionals and invited guests from across the industry to celebrate the outstanding contributions made by these two distinguished communicators.
