Manchester Central has seen a 45 per cent rise in corporate revenue in 2016.

The north of England conference and events venue says it received almost 33 per cent more corporate business compared to 2015, welcoming 20,000 delegates to more than 50 corporate events.

Major brands such as Co-op and Santander were among the companies to hold events at the venue.

Jane Ashworth, The Co-operative Group, said: "Our AGM ran like clockwork because the venue and team at Manchester Central were simply superb. The team was unruffled and knew exactly what they were doing at all times, even when I sprang last minute requests on them; responding in a relaxed and encouraging way. I was extremely impressed with the whole experience and look forward to working with the venue again this year!"

Angie Robinson, chief executive of Manchester Central, said: "I’m delighted that we’re continuing to see substantial growth amongst our corporate bookings in what was a record year for Manchester Central.

"Our experienced team of professionals is primed to build on this success and I look forward to welcoming both new and returning clients in 2017."
