Meetings Morocco hailed as "great success" after rise in meetings

Second edition of trade show hailed as “great success” by organisers following 50 per cent rise in meetings

The second edition of Meetings Morocco has been hailed as a “great success” by organisers, with a 50 per cent rise in meetings at this year’s event.

More than 1,500 event professionals registered for the event, including more than 220 hosted buyers. There were 2,873 pre-scheduled meetings, an increase of 50 per cent on the show’s first edition in 2016.

Held at the Palmeraie Resort Conference Centre in Marrakech in January, buyers came from 28 countries to the trade fair, which is now seen as a spearhead in promoting the destination both nationally and internationally.

A spokesman for the organisers said: “The major advantage of this second edition and of having brought together, in a single location, a real international demand for Morocco, as well as a growing local demand that was present at the first edition, with the presence of 100 major Moroccan companies represented by communication and marketing managers, purchasing managers, etc.

“The support of the Moroccan National Tourist Office, the Palmeraie Resort group, the Kenzi Hotels group, Marrakech’s Regional Tourist Board and the National Tourist Confederation and other partners was decisive in the success of this edition.

“Buyers have received offers from all Moroccan towns and cities including hotels, conference centres, event venues, production companies, incentive products and various industry service providers.

“Also, within the context of Meetings Morocco, there have been several evening events and familiarisation trips in order to discover the destination and its different products.”
