The International Convention Centre (ICC) Birmingham and the Vox Conference Centre held 230 banqueting events and welcomed 71,500 delegates in 2016, resulting in more than £5 million revenue across both venues.

The successful results have seen the promotion of two sales team members; Maria Mawston has been promoted to senior banqueting sales manager at the ICC and Emma Peplow to banqueting sales manager for the Vox.

It comes following the venue's investment of £140k into new table top lighting equipment, giving more options for catering.

Sales director of the ICC and Vox, James Elston, said; "Stand Alone Banqueting is very important to our venues. It not only helps to keep our venues busy in the evenings and over weekends, but it also plays a vital role in the local economy. With tens of thousands of delegates visiting our venues annually for banquets, this only has a positive impact on the surrounding hotels, bars and restaurants in the city centre where the ICC is based and on the NEC campus where the Vox is part of the integrated leisure complex, Resorts World."
